Top 5 Terrible Movie Dialogues

Image
Here is a pick of my top 5 terrible and the most ridiculous movie dialogues in hindi films. I was spoilt for choice for this topic as there are so many of them. So i chose them based on how pathetic they were in the context of the scene Katrina Kaif( Yuraj ): " Tum ek hardcore anti-famly man ho" Hrithik Roshan (kites) : " I had a dream, you had a dream, now we have a bigger dream" (watch from 6:52) Shahrukh Khan (Kuch Kuch hota hai): Hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti, pyaar bhi ek baar hota hai" Akshay Kumar (Boss) : "Apne ko to sirf paani nikalna hai" (almost sounds as if he wants to give someone a BJ and wants a facial) Aamir Khan (Dhoom 3) : "Bande hain hum uske , humpe kiska zor"

How Fake Action cringes the discerning viewer

Image
Movie stars ,like any brand ,have a particular identity that is fostered and sold to the audience as what makes them distinct and somehow ‘better’ than all competing brands. In the case of action stars their brands are built to a VERY large degree on the base of “We really do this stuff".If you see it on screen, it’s because someone really did it.” That’s what adds that extra bit of thrill to their work, because they are really laying their bodies on the line. But since the inception of VFX into films and action in particular , quite a few wannabes take themselves too seriously as "action heroes" just to get that USP which was attached historically to the legendary martial artist actors. The first film which probably did this was matrix in 1999 and since then it has been done to death in just about every small and big ticket film in the west and east . The technology has been milked for all its worth so much as so that it has barely any novelty or wow factor left. Wor...

Bulandi (2000) : When panchayat becomes a penchant

Image
Bulandi is one of my biggest guilty pleasure film  to date along with Clerk and Gaon humaara shaher tumhara. I have seen it multiple times, visited it recently  and each time it is just as enjoyable because there is so much to decipher in every scene. The film celebrates male chauvinism at danke ki chot and takes extreme pride in it in a very earnest way. It is about a thakur family which has a history of making disastrous decisions.  Each time a thakur makes an entry on his ghoda -gaadi, there is an epic BMG which resembles the Bane chant from The dark knight rises. You have no option but to get mesmerised each time anil/rajni as thakur walks in slow motion . Rajnikant but naturally has more flair here. He doesnt light stick by rubbing it on match box but instead rubs the match box on the stick to light his cigar. Since that day i always lighted the match stick in my chemistry lab in same fashion. such is the impact of that scene. If during an argument in panchay...

Ramleela review: Trigger Dabane Ki Baat Mar Kar, Trigger Daba Daal

The film starts on Bhansali sets where there are lot of guns. A riot occurs between two groups of people in bhansali sets. Meanwhile Ranveer is introduced by Tattad Tattad song on another Bhansali sets. He has the facial look of Bhansali himself but the lower body is shaved like Salman of 90s. May be Bhansali always had a fetish for that kind of appearance. Then Supriya Pathak who is member of one of the groups is introduced on yet another Bhansali sets. She continues her Khichdi act from where she had left. In next scene, it is revealed that Ranvir is a porn film seller. and just after that the Slutty Savitri Deepika is introduced, this is not a co-incidence…..and yes, on yet another Bhansali set. She plays a Gujju but has accent of a vernacular M***i. Its Holi so a song starts and Deepika has started doing what she did in BKB, LAK, Cockail, KCK, Yjhd, Lafangey Parindey, i.e. hititng on the hero in the first mulaqat. They are about to have sex too with the underlying idea that ...

Commando Review 2013

Image
Back in the 90s, in his films like KKK and Mohra, Akshay showed that Indian heroes can do the spinning back kicks and use the Nunchaku with as much ease as the Van Dammes . Vidyut takes that legacy forward and proves what Tony Jaa and Scott Adkins can do, he can do as well. The introduction of Vidyut is nothing less than a celebration of his histrionics. This commando can do handstand pushups, one leg squats, spartan push ups with as much ease as walking in the garden. His intro fight is easily the best choreographed action sequence in Bollywood for a long time and matches the global standards of martial arts action. The ease with which he carries out his back flips, corkscrew kick, jumping through a car window and over it, vidyut makes all so-called action heroes Salman and Ajay look like school-going kids. People run on road, Vidyut runs on people! But not everything is good about Commando. Pooja Chopra's role is quite irritating at points and she tries her best to ruin ...
